Judge Deal Reportedly Close
Sunday, 13th Jan 2019 18:58

Town are reportedly close to agreeing the deal which would see winger Alan Judge sign from Brentford.

According to West London Sport, the switch - which would be Town’s sixth addition of the transfer window - is getting close to completion.

The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international is out of contract at Griffin Park at the end of the season and is available for a cut-price fee.

Judge suffered a broken leg at Portman Road in April 2016, an injury which kept him out of first-team action until January 2018.

This season, the former Blackburn, Plymouth (loan) and Notts County man has made only seven starts and 17 sub appearances for the Bees, scoring twice.

Dubliner Judge previously came close to joining the Blues from the Magpies in the summer of 2013, however, he instead returned to Blackburn, where he had previously been a youth player, for a second spell.

According to some Brentford fans, he's never regained the form he had before the injury. But let's hope he does with us. At 30, these days a player should still have plenty left to give.

Good Central midfield options with Huws, Bishop, Skuse, Chalobah and Downes, don't see him coming in as a winger his most productive season at Brentford was as a deep lying midfielder

Terrible injury to the player - takes time to heal completely, and get confidence, and form back.

Just great to see him able to play again.

Sign Judge. All we need after that is a good quality Right Back and I feel we will be there.

Would be an excellent addition to our squad in terms of both ability and experience. Also not a loan which gives us continued option to push on with CV as a further solid defensive body. We may yet be seeing a remake of the ‘Great Escape'...

Would be a great signing. Different to what we currently have and gives us options. Get him in sooner rather than later. Lok forward to seeing him in a Town shirt.

Judge and jury still out. But hopefully Judge will soon be in.😀

Hope this deal can be got over the line - would be a good addition, which Sat's second half suggests we need.

Could he be our, dare I say it, Wes hoolahan? Would be very happy to sign him. But like every single other town fan ever-when are we getting a right back?

I like the look of him, lovely free kick against Arsenal on YouTube. My only slight concern is Brentford are usually pretty shrewd in the transfer market but hopefully they've dropped a big clanger with this one should it go through.

Be good to get someone in who can take a good set piece with our new team of giants, maybe Collins can save the goals and score them too and single handedly keep us up 😁
